I could just ask you to watch Hal Lindsey's TV program from today's date, but you might not follow through with my request. Therefore, I've taken notes from this amazing broadcast and I'm going to share them on this,my blog in the hope they will inspire you, as they have me! The title of this broadcast was: Does The Flag Yet Wave?
He included a number of quotes from people I feel sure you'll recognize if you're as old as I am...and if you're younger and haven't heard of them, then your history teachers should be ashamed!
Actually, the Hal Lindsey broadcast began with a speech given by Rep. J. Randy Forbes on July 3, 2009 which was absolutely awesome...recalling the foundation of this country! It led to a Spiritual Heritage Resolution. I suggest all of you reading this check that out!
Here goes:
John Adams said in 1798:
"Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other."
Then Hal said: "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely....that's why the founding Fathers wanted checks and balances and as little government as possible and entrusted that kind of 'freedom' with TRUE Christians.
He quoted Proverbs 16:7 - "When a man's ways please the Lord, even his enemies will be at peace with him."
I feel have much more turmoil around us on every hand today than we've had when God was being honored by prayer in school and in opening of congress and not being stricken from so many public meetings!
Noah Webster said: The religion which has introduced civil liberty, is the religion of Christ and His apostles.
This is genuine Christianity and to this we owe our free constitutions of government.
Patrick Henry said: It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians....
