Wild Animals Matter to God!

Wild or Domestic--God Loves His Creatures.
Yes, surprisingly, this scary creature "must matter to God."  Why do I say that?  There are a couple of reasons:

As I was rereading the passage of scripture from Jeremiah 27, vs. 6 captured my attention. This passage was underlined, so I knew I had read it before. Because this passage caught my attention , I began to look for other related scriptures.

Here is The Passage:  "Now I will give your countries to King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, who is my servant.  I have put everything, even the wild animals under his control."

Of course, we may all have witnessed "lion tamers, 'gator wrestlers, and other similar types of people who seem to know no fear in the face of even the most ferocious animals.  But, somehow when I read that the wild animals were going to be under Nebuchadnezzar's control, it "startled" me.

Animals are mentioned quite often in the Word of God....even during a time of repentance by the King of Nineveh after hearing what Jonah, the prophet was saying, the King said, "No one, not even the animals from your herds and flocks, may eat or drink anything at all.  People and animals alike must wear garments of mourning, and everyone must pray earnestly to God.  They must turn (animals also?) from their evil ways and stop all their violence.  Who can tell?  Perhaps even yet God will change his mind and hold back His fierce anger from destroying us."--Jonah 3:b7

As I read these words, I thought about the condition we, as a nation, are in!  Folks, it doesn't look good for America and I don't want to be a doomsday prophet as everyone thought Jeremiah was.  Yet, on one occasion a number of years back, I was seeking the Lord through prayer and fasting and I was led to read from the book of Jonah.  It's short and I quickly came to the end where the Lord says to Jonah, who was angry because he was going to look foolish if the people actually responded to his prophetic warning.

Because I felt the Lord was "showing" me that verse, I asked "why"?  And the gentle voice of the Lord came to me that because we (KY) were experiencing drought at that time, He wanted my friends and I to pray to break that drought...even for the animals sake!

It says this:  Jonah 4:9--"Then God said to Jonah, 'Is it right for you to be angry because the plant died?" (God had a plant shoot up quickly to shade Jonah). "'Yes,' Jonah retorted, 'even angry enough to die!'
'Then the Lord said, 'You feel sorry about the plant, though you did nothing to put it there.  It came quickly and died quickly.  But Nineveh has more than 120,000 people living in spiritual darkness, not to mention all the animals.  Shouldn't I feel sorry for such a great city?"

My gut feeling is that God is justly angry for much that is happening in America today, yet this scripture passage shows that even when angry, He will show "mercy" if called upon to do so!

My response to this reading is that of another scripture:  "Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land."--2 Chronicles 7:14

I can recall many times during a variety of Presidents, where AS A NATION, we were asked to spend time in prayer (& fasting)...A NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER, initiated by our President!

Even if we don't have that type of leadership, I suggest that "if one (angel) can chase 1000 (demons), and two chase ten thousand," then we should at the very least, join with one other believer to pray for a turning of the "tide of evil" that is afflicting our nation.  The more we gather and pray, the stronger our influence against the evil.

I hope these words are an encouragement to you!
