I said goodbye again to Bob this morning, which is OUR normal routine and he'll not only have to hit the pavement running in Columbus, but when he returns to his home away from home, he may be greeted with some challenges. His sister had serious eye surgery this morning and I haven't yet heard if it proved to be more or less serious.
I'm saying all of the above to say this: I feel that my first priority...my true calling is PRAYER...and I haven't been STILL long enough to 'feel' I've made it so. But, since I've been a good student of God's word, I realize we aren't supposed to walk by feelings but by grace and truth and HIS Word! Therefore...HIS MERCIES ARE NEW EVERY MORNING...AND I WILL REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN THEM!!! HE NEVER SLEEPS NOR SLUMBERS.
Many at our church have been meeting to pray specifically for the important upcoming election and that would be one of my great concerns. I will be leading a prayer group...once again beginning this Thursday at our church which will not only be for the elections, but also for personal needs and citywide and our church concerns (however the Holy Spirit leads us). That encourages me! I know there is strength in numbers because the Bible tells me so...(One can chase 1000 and two can chase 10,000). That certainly improves our ability to gain ground against ole slewfoot!
Well, I've moaned and groaned, but I think I've preached myself into encouragement! Isn't that just what David did when he'd had a bad season??? God bless anyone reading this...Love to all.
