As I meditated on these words I thought of several others:
Habakkuk 3-Though the fig tree should not blossom And there be no fruit on the vines, Though the yield of the olive should fail and the fields produce no food, Though the flock should be cut off from the fold And there be no cattle in the stalls, Yet I will exalt in the Lord, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation. The Lord GOD is my strength."
Also, I thought of this and I was at peace even with all the confusion I hear when I turn on the Television:
Psalm 23 -"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in righteousness for His names sake."
Jeremiah 29 - "I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you hope and a good future."
So, with these words I continue to pray that a Godly leader will emerge from the Nov. 4th election, one who will 'lean not to his own understanding but will in ALL of his ways, acknowledge the Lord" who WILL direct his path and the path of this nation back into a semblance of a 'godly' nation."
I'm afraid that we have strayed VERY far from what our founding fathers had in mind when they assembled more than 200 years ago to write the constitution. Only GOD can turn us back toward that vision--One nation UNDER GOD.
