Reflections

For anyone who is used to reading my 'thoughts', you may have decided I must have stopped having any! Well, truthfully I may not have had any more than mundane ones over the past couple of months!

The young lady, (16 years old) on the left is my granddaughter, Alexis who raises rabbits to sell and this is one of her Flemish Giants! They are quite large as you can tell as she holds on for dear life. They often sell for $70.00.

Now that I'm back from my journey for rest and recuperation from a sinus infection, I've been thinking about one of the high points of the adventure! Of course, just spending 6 weeks with my son's family is in and of itself a true adventure and one I can't be more grateful for. I was also blessed to take a quick side trip to Lexington where I visited with my college student granddaughter, Bree who had knee surgery just a month ago. She was told it would require 6 to 9 months of intense physical therapy and in true athletic competitive style, she has set a goal to back in shape in 5 months. That's our Bree!

I also enjoyed the other 5 kids briefly. Arian was in Florida with his wonderful roommate Taylor enjoying the hospitality of RobertO. I also was able to spend a short amount of quality time with my longest (note I didn't say 'oldest') friend, Anne--Ha. We enjoyed an educational video about an exciting health opportunity with some other friends before going to eat at Cheddar's.

Now getting down to the most important memory maker up this point about my time with Shane and family: would you believe that it's reading out loud "Charlotte's Web" to all 6 children ages 16 to 5, along with my son who was there most of the time to hear the story as well! I never had the chance to read the story to my own children and I have found this an amazing tale!!! I never even watched the movie!

I've had a few books I couldn't lay down and I have to say Charlotte's Web...were it not for reading out loud, might be listed among them. The little boys, ages 5, 7, 9 would say, "one more chapter, Nana?" It would usually be too late or my voice too tired, but the story is like that. Now my list of favorite books will say, Gone With The Wind, East of Eden and Charlotte's Web, an odd combination I know! That isn't discounting The Bible, of course! I recommend to adults and those who have children or grandchildren...get a copy and you'll be very pleased you did!
