I wonder if anyone reading this ever thinks like I do? By that I mean I will think of a kind of "off the wall" topic and I find it just hangs around and I can't seem to let it go.
Lately, it came back to me that I needed to refresh my memory pertaining to a particular scripture (Numbers 4) where it indicates that the Levites were to serve from age 30 to ONLY 50 years old! This particular scripture captured my attention because my WONDERFUL husband (of 77 years young) is still working and he loves to state that he's never read anything in the Bible about "retirement."
Admittedly, this Levite rule may not indicate that they completely quit working in the temple and went back to farming, but it has become my answer to "there is a time to retire." At least there's nothing "UNbiblical" about it--:)
Well, that being the case...I just HAD to look at that passage again...and realized in my search for it...(God bless whoever designed Bible Pathway) that I had recalled INCORRECTLY that it was in Leviticus rather than in Numbers. Also, I sorta thought it was at age 55..not 50. So, in order to be properly correct...I'm so glad I rechecked my source.
Sometimes I think I may be a bit OCD....but you know what, I really like words and I appreciate "facts" when they are facts. I like to know "truth" and I always hope when I retell a story (situation) I will be quite accurate. Then also I'm hoping what I'm hearing is accurate as well.
This is not a big deal,,,,but just a little "food for thought" entry into my blogging world.
Hope you're having a nice life:>)
