I love adding photos to my blog. A picture is worth a thousand words they say. If you look closely at this picture you'll see that it is a Double Rainbow. Of course I couldn't capture the fact that I could see it go all the way across and come down to the other end....It was beautiful.
We can take that as the promise for which it was sent..BY GOD...of course.... that He would not wipe out this planet by a flood as is recorded in Genesis. I think we can also be reminded of just how much He loves us by seeing the beauty we're surrounded with daily!
In today's devotional it says when talking about runner's winning the prize..and practicing..."There's a price to pay to reach the next level. Sidney Howard remarked, "One half of knowing what you want, is knowing what you must give up before you get it."
Those words struck me! Yesterday, my husband went to a men's breakfast and he said they discussed what each of them thought God thought of them and their answer should be in one word. His answer was two words..."in process." As I thought about it..my answer was "faithful." You see, I certainly am not a perfect Christian, wife, mother, friend, neighbor. I don't bear a lot of the fruits of the Spirit on a consistent basis as described in Galations 5:22 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law." However, I do STRIVE toward that goal. God's Spirit is at work in my heart and thankfully, He doesn't grow tired or become weary we're told.
I love to read the word of God. I love to share it with others. I love attending meetings where believer's are gathered. I love listening to GOOD Christian music...and of course that's defined by what good is to 'me'. Some of it sounds LOUD and awful anymore...but some is truly inspiring and anointed and takes me right into the throne room of God. "I'm Desperate For You!" (from the WORSHIP album) is one that recently brought me into a special place with God.
I don't think 'giving up' the beauty of where we are right now has fully registered with me, yet in my heart I KNOW if God is saying we are to move....then there is no resistance! I will gladly say, "Yes, Lord." You know best! I trust you...You've been soooo good to me. I can and WILL follow You. LEAD ON!
