Out of my Bob Gass devotional I read, "A world champion boxer put it this way: 'Champions aren't made in gyms, they are made from something they have deep inside them--a desire, a dream, a vision. They have last-minute stamina. They have to be a little faster, and they have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill.'"
After reading about the champion boxers , I was reading in my one year Bible about Abram (Abraham) and Lot and noted that even though Abram was told to leave his entire family (except his wife), he was disobedient and took Lot with him when he departed Egypt. In spite of being told not to have Lot with him, when push came to shove, Abram came to Lot's defense when Lot was attacked by four kings.
With that thought in mind, I was recalling a program on TV about famous comebacks in 2008 and the one they considered the greatest was Britney Spears. Her father was appointed guardian by the court and he obviously had her best interests at heart or she wouldn't have made it back to show up at the end of the year looking great and making headlines the way she did. She also has the support of her mother and sister, I suspect, along with her two sons.
This whole matter has made me weigh will and skill and companionship together in accomplishing goals since we're often asked to set goals at the beginning of a new year! It seems quite obvious to me that it's not just one or the the other, but all THREE that are important!
For me...a goal that I'm going to look into is the possibility of purchasing a small trailer that "I" can pull behind my SUV and when the weather is so unbearably hot here in Florida, take off for visits with my family in NC, KY, KS and then perhaps see some places I've never seen before. It would involve something I could manage on my own because Bob is so seldom available :>) He loves his work! If he can fly to Tampa...he can fly other places instead. That's one nice thing about computer connections.
Well, that's my goal. Time will tell if it's plausible. I'm going exploring at an RV part today :>) Why wait? Time's a'wastin!
